2009 Nissan Rouge

The compact SUV market has served as another blow to the station wagon market. Featuring all wheel drive, added functionality and cargo room, the compact SUV’s are family haulers for young families. To emphasize the point Nissan doesn’t sell a station wagon in the USA. I drove the Rouge which has a 2.5L I-4 that makes 170hp and 175lb-ft of torque. The Rouge has tons of cargo, handy compartments, cup holders galore, and even leather seats. For 2009 Nissan also added navigation to the option with an OEM supplied add on which works great. Bluetooth, XM radio, and a Bose audio system are also available in the edgy designed Rouge. Nissan rouge has a CVT transmission with available paddle shifts that simulate gear shifts for an added sporty character. Fuel economy is 22 mpg city/ 27 mpg highway for FWD versions and 21mpg city/ 26mpg highway for AWD versions of the Rouge.
