All new for 2010 I remember seeing the Kia Soul at the NY Auto Show
this past spring. Kia had them “wrapped” in creative graphics and
they were a scene stealer in front of the Jacob Jarvis center and
their reception a short distance. Also notable for the famed
hamster commercial, the Soul is a fun new sub compact that drew
compliments and praise during my week of driving. Powered by a 2.0L
4 cylinder 142 hp engine the Soul is very peppy and enjoyable to
drive. Designed for a younger generation as a first car the soul
has everything from Bluetooth capability, SiriusXM satellite radio,
Mp3 playback, iPod integration, keyless remote, and a mood setting
that has a red pulsing light from the speakers, creating a cool,
funky mood during night driving. I also though the checkered seats
were different and a funky twist. The Soul has a cool list of
accessories, from remote start, to 18” alloy wheels, to a first aid
kit, to a body kit, to even metal pedals. I found the Soul to be
cool yet functional as I was able to carry boxes of DVD’s in the
rear cargo area. Pricing on the Kia Soul starts under $14,000
though the loaded one I drove priced slightly more than $18,000.
