Rock Band 2

I must admit the music gaming genre has taking a life onto its own. With the popularity of American Idol the desire of music fans to participate has reached all time heights and games like Rock Band have served to grow the desire even further. Rock Band 2 is the most interactive and inclusive game on the market with new songs and the ability to import songs from Rock Band. Rock Band 2 adds new capabilities never seen in the genre. Bands can now compete online in Battle of the Bands mode with real time stats. The online gameplay is further enhanced by a great online community where you have more freedom to personalize your avatar adding tattoos, hairstyles, custom instruments, accessories, clothing and more. I was fortunate to get a demonstration at E3 and the game play looked great. I was able to watch the World Tour mode where you hire staff and build your band and visit cities with booked gigs. A cool feature is the ability to import songs from Rock Band which allows you to enrich the experience by playing your favorite tunes and also adding the new selections to give the ultimate Rock Band experience. We had an event this past August in Atlanta, GA and had Black from Flavor of Love 3 playing which was awesome. We also had kids and their families playing including these four girls who was brought to the event by their mother, so Rock Band has a reach beyong the "typical" gamer and Rock Band 2 would only further grow thier casual gaming audience.
